Item Description
Amazing, sculptural, large, fantasy-like 360-degree colemanite on calcite from Boron. Striking, glassy, transparent to translucent colemanite blades are selectively festooned on the incredibly vuggy large matrix of densely intergrown columnals of stacked lustrous, and translucent amber calcite crystals. The piece has a fine provenance, having been in the Dawn and Jim Minette Collection. Jim collected them himself! This was probably collected in the 1960s or 70s. Every turn presents a dramatically different perspective. An outstanding, highly unusual and architectural combination Boron classic - ONLY available from old collections.
