Item Description
An impressive, colorful and sculptural small cabinet colemanite specimen from this famous borate mine, the world's largest borax mine. Yellow colemanite is the most desirable varietal from here and hardest to get. A striking mounded cluster of very sharp, glassy, rich yellow wedge shaped prisms crowns this artistic piece and rests on massive colorless colemanite. A small vug of yellow crystals on the lower left is a super accent. The yellow color is thought to be caused by pararealgar. A wonderful and rare yellow colemanite from here. Specimens of this color and quality were recovered in the mid-1970s, with none since.
