Item Description

A wonderful matrix specimen of sharp, gemmy to translucent, well-formed, white to colorless crystals of Colemanite from California. Crystals measure up to a whopping 4.3 cm, which is . Good condition all around, despite a few contacted crystals here and there. You rarely see Colemanite specimens with crystals this size and of such fine quality. Priced at $750 in the inventory. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds (#RR0715) who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
