Item Description

A fantastic display quality matrix specimen featuring good sized, sharp, translucent, well-formed, off-white colored crystals of Colemanite from the type locality in Death Valley, California. The crystals measure up in 2.2 cm and most of them are in very good condition, with little damage. This is classic material, some of the best and most recognized Colemanites in the world, and they are fairly scarce on the market today.
From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds (#RR0699). Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
