Item Description

A beautiful specimen of Colemanite from the well known locality in Death Valley. Typically, Colemanite specimens are rather "flat" and two-dimensional, but this piece has great form featuring a well-formed, blocky white crystals. The piece is a great representative example of this classic borate species. Colemanite is named after William Coleman who founded the California borax industry and owned of the mine where the species was discovered.
