Item Description
Glassy, sharp, pastel-pink, cobaltoan smithsonite rhombs line two adjacent vugs on this impressive large and sculptural specimen from Tsumeb. The rhombs reach 2.4 cm on diagonal on rest on a very hefty and rich ore matrix of sparkly granular sphalerite. The sceptum separating the vugs is dinged and only a couple of the many rhombs are gently bruised, which are certainly only modest detractions. This attractive and excellent large smithsonite, with desirable pink rhombs, has two fine display views. Valued at $1000-1250. Classic Tsumeb smithsonite.
