Tsumeb has a wide variety of colors for smithsonite. Some of the most enticing and attractive cobalt-bearing smithsonite specimens are from Tsumeb. This striking and excellent small cabinet specimen is an excellent representation of one of the classics of Tsumeb. Dozens of rich pink color, lustrous, transcluent crystals cover both sides of this elongated piece on galena matrix. The stunning and beautiful large rhomb is 1.6 cm on the diagonal. All of the many crystals up top are pristine and the periphery wear along the base is certainly a modest detraction. Smithsonite of this varietal, richness and crystal size are highly desirable, and sought after by collectors. This is a superb miniature, valued at $600-800.
