Cobaltoan Smithsonite on Cerussite (Rob Smith Coll.)

Item Description

Sharp, lustrous, translucent, pastel-pink, cobaltaon smithsonite rhombs to 1.2 cm on the diagonal are discreetly scattered on a rich bed of tiny smithsonites. The mounded matrix is very glassy, smoky, crystallized to massive, cerussite. This is a classic, very showy and excellent smithsonite combination specimen from the Rob Smith Collection, a noted Tsumeb specialist. Heavy and rich lead and zinc ore for the size at 219 grams.
