Cobaltoan Calcite w/ Primary Malachite (fine old combo)

Scintillating, shocking pink, spherical aggregates of translucent cobaltoan calcite crystals nicely complimented by a few patches of primary malachite crystals form this large, intensely colorful, fabulous plate. This is about the most vibrant pink calcite we have seen from any worldwide locale. A bit of bruising is noted. Old-time material from the 1970s or 80s and very rarely on the market with this amazing combination color and quality. The back has been sawed to enhance the display. This piece was found with others in the storage unit of deceased dealer Gilbert Gauthier, at Tucson of 2012. Valued for scintillating neon color, combination and size, at $400-500.
