The unique vivid pink color and sharp scalenohedral form simply make Katanga (now Lualaba) cobaltoan calcites one of the most desirable calcite varietals in the world. Mashamba West Mine pieces are unsurpassed and are considered to be the very finest. They were collected in the mid-1980s, with none since of this style. This excellent architectural intergrown thumbnail pair has rich color, translucence and frosted faces. Rarely on the market in this quality, even with the gently bruised secondary termination.
