Cobaltoan Calcite

A 2.0 cm, gemmy and lustrous, pretty pink, cobaltoan calcite scalenohedron is the striking focal point of this showy and excellent specimen from the famous copper mines of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Nearly pristine, the very trivial termination bruise is barely noticeable and is certainly not a detraction. This is a very high quality, older, cobaltoan calcite crystal. Most of the adjacent crystals are dinged or broken. Irregardless, this is a very fine and highly representative example of the species and locale and is valued highly.
