Item Description
An attractive and unusual Cobaltoan Calcite piece from the Mashamba West Mine. Shimmering, magenta-pink Cobaltoan Calcite fills an elongate vug in a contrasting olive-green matrix. The calcites are mainly translucent to transparent, flattened rhombs with many of them in stacked growth and all of them have a very appealing magenta-pink color. The crystals are continuous across the vug and vary in size from 0.5 to just over 1 cm across. There is some minor bruising around the periphery of the piece, otherwise the crystals are in excellent condition.
