Item Description
A seldom-seen Clinozoisite crystal from the Cerro San Cristobal area in the Lima Department of Peru. The piece is a sharp, lustrous, well-formed prismatic crystal showing rich greenish and golden hues on the edges when backlit. Clinozoisite is a member of the Epidote group, typically distinguished by the fact that unlike Epidote, Clinozoisite is not pleochroic. This piece is in very good shape all around, and the underside is actually partially re-crystallized ("re-healed"), so it's close to being a "floater".
