SUPER RARE Clinozoisite and Clinozoisite variety Clinothulite from a most obscure California locality in Inyo County, Birch Creek. Clinozoisite is the Al3 analogue of Epidote in the Clinozoisite-Epidote Series. Clinothulite is the pink Mn3 variety of Clinozoisite. This striking and sculptural large dramatically vuggy specimen hosts numerous jackstraw lustrous and translucent clusters of both pink Clinothulite and brown Clinozoisite prism to 3.5 cm on both the front and back. MINDAT lists 28 valid species for the locale, with NO examples in the Photo Gallery! Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. A rare, perhaps UNIQUE large and impressive example of the species from the obscure locale.
