Item Description
This piece was collected in 2014, and from what I was told, came out from an area that was productive in the early 2000's, and revisited by diggers in the hopes of finding more specimens. This piece features, a 1.3 cm, sharp, well-formed, prismatic, lustrous, gemmy/translucent, olive oil to golden colored crystals of Clinozoisite (x-ray confirmed) associated with off white rhombic Calcite. Good quality, hard to photograph, and best appreciated in person. It should be noted that this is not EPIDOTE, but rather the Al analogue, and typically less common in my experience with this material. Additionally, these are "Alpine Type" specimens similar to those from the Italian and Austrian Alps.
