Clinoptilolite-Na (rare) and Mordenite

Item Description

Clinoptilolite-Na is a rare Zeolite Group species. This Oregon basalt locality is well-known for agate "thundereggs" and for its clinoptilolite-Na specimens. Lustrous, translucent, rich burnt-orange crystals fill the sculptural curved vug. Tiny sprays of acicular white mordenite are scattered about as a nice accessory. A rich and showy example of this rare zeolite species from a museum collection.
