Item Description
I believe this is the first specimen of Clinohumite that we've ever had from this locality to offer in the auctions. It is quite similar to the specimens found in Vietnam in the early 2000s, which is essentially the exact same time these specimens were coming out in Spain. Both the Spanish specimens and those from Vietnam features similar Spinel crystals as well! Several good quality, sharp, well-formed, lustrous, rich golden-orange colored crystals of Clinohumite measuring up to 7 mm are intergrown with a small amount of Calcite to form this attractive thumbnail sized specimen. The piece comes with a label from noted Spanish dealer, Carlos Pareja. A cool rarity for anybody who collects thumbnails or minerals of Spain. From the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016). David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered.
