Item Description
Clinohumite is a magnesium silicate species, and a member of the Humite group. In nature, Clinohumite is not typically seen in gem quality material, especially with this kind of color. The species is reported from a fair number localities, but it RARELY forms gemmy crystals with a desirable color for faceting. Most of the Clinohumites you'll find are either a dark brownish hue, and the micro crystals are often very lightly colored, so these vivid orange gems are as good it gets for the species. Several years ago, there was a discovery of some of the most spectacular Clinohumite crystals in the Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan. Many of crystals were cut into stones and set a new standard for the species as a cut gem. This particular stone is a lovely bright orange color gem that is slightly included and has a "Round Brilliant" cut. This material is extremely difficult to find now as the locality seems to be exhausted and the best stones are long gone. Don't miss this opportunity to add this great rarity to your collection.
