Clinohumite (great color)

Clinohumite is known from only a handful of world localities in fine quality crystals. Typically, the mineral has an orange color, but a few years ago, some very impressive RED color Clinohumites were found in Afghanistan in the same area where the famous Lapiz Lazuli is mined. This piece features good quality, sharp, well-formed, gemmy (when backlit), RED color monoclinic crystals of Clinohumite measuring up to 7 mm from this contemporary discovery. If you're an Afghani mineral collector, a gem crystal collector, or a collector of rare silicates, do not pass up this beautiful little specimen. Good quality all around.
