Clinoenstatite (rare) ex Obodda

Item Description

Clinoenstatite is a rare Pyroxene Group species and is rare from any worldwide locality. It is extremely rare from the deposits of the Shigar Valley. Sharp, highly lustrous, dark olive-green crystals have a beautiful translucent shimmer in bright light. The impressive pristine large central crystal is 1.5 x 1.4 cm. This is a very fine, two-sided, solid crust of crystals. The bit of bruising to the right of the large crystal is certainly only a modest detraction. Leave it to intrepid Himalaya specialist, Herb Obodda, to find such a rarity. Ex. Herb Obodda specimen. ID is from the previous owner. Herb valued this showy and rare piece at $300, more than six years ago.
