Item Description

An attractive and relatively hard to find display specimen of beautifully crystallized Clinochlore associated with Diopside from an undisclosed locality in San Benito County (possibly the Yellow Cat Mine). Sharp, well-formed, very thin, translucent, blue-green colored blades of Clinochlore measuring up to 7 mm are associated with small, sparkling yellow-green colored crystals of Diopside on a slab of host rock matrix. Very attractive up close and certainly worth picking up if you collect California minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4680). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
