Clinochlore var: Chromium-bearing (''Kammererite'') (pictured in the Mineralogical Record)

For years, these iconic speicmens were considered to be a valid species, but now Kammererite is defined as Chromium-bearing Clinochlore. Since the name "Chromium-bearing Clinochlore" is a bit wordy, most people still refer to this material as Kammererite. This is one of those minerals that has an incredibly distinctive and unique colors in the mineral world. Maybe Roselite and Erythrite have similar color, but this amazing purplish-pink is one the most recognizable colors out there. This wonderful specimen featuring a coverage of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich purplish monoclinic crystals measuring up to 7 mm on matrix. One of the few pieces of this material that I've offered from this locality recently.
This piece is from the collection of Chris and Agatha Galas, and was pictured on page 103 in the 2017 issue of the Mineralogical Record featuring Mineral Collections in California. There is a pile of old labels accompanying the piece. The caption for this specimen was erroneously printed with the piece measuring 7.55 cm(!), but it's much closer to 5.5 cm.
