Item Description

A VERY RARE old-time combination specimen from this extinct serpentine quarry started before 1892. Brinton's Quarry is the Type Locality for clinochlore, even thought it was originally named in 1851 and was discovered in 1789 (MINDAT). Lustrous "books" of grayish-green clinochlore plates, to 4.8 cm, are aesthetically set in RARE for the locale matrix of soft talc. Choice and rare old-time combination material from the Paterson Museum Collection. A MUST for the species or locality collector!
