Item Description
Please note, this piece was mistakenly labeled as Clinozoisite, but it's clearly Clinochlore as the habit and style of the crystals is immediately recognizable. This piece features dark greenish-black colored groups of Clinochlore measuring up to about 2-3 mm sitting on a thin layer of matrix. The crystals are all in good shape, and look beautiful up close. I've seen a few pieces of Chromian Clinochlore ("Kammererite") from this mine, but I've never seen a piece of the greenish material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5280). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
