Item Description

Typically Clinochlore is not seen in fine display specimens. The species is usually the base upon which other minerals form, so when you find a good quality display specimen with fine crystals like this, it's important and rare. This piece features several layered groups of sharp, well-formed, lustrous deep green colored (nearly black) hexagonal Clinochlore measuring up to 8 mm across, sitting on matrix. The crystals look great up close and we've done our best to illustrate the quality in the macro photos. A choice example of what is not considered a rare species, but not seen in fine isolated crystals on matrix like this.
From the collection of Gerry Morvell, with an old label from Wolli Wendel.
