Item Description

Clausthalite is a very rare lead selenide, and good examples are hard to find from any locality, especially the Ace deposit, in Saskatchewan, Canada. It should be noted that the label accompanying this piece states that the locality is the Ace-Fay Mine. Small lead-greay colored metallic spots of Clauthalite can be seen in the black Uraninite matrix. This species gets its name from the first discovery at Clausthal-Zellerfeld in the Harz Mountains of Germany. This is the ONLY piece of this species that we've had to offer from this locality, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value.
