classic style Hemimorphite (Panczner Coll.)

One of the most classic and beautiful examples of Hemimorphite from the famous old Ojuela Mine when I was growing up in the 1980s mineral world, were these spherical aggregates of radiating crystals of hemimorphite. The sparkle and luster is hard to believe, and difficult to convey with photos. See the video to try to understand how sparkly and dramatic this is. It is very 3-D and space-filling, as well. This is not a small miniature, but a full minature borderline to small cab size, with outsized impact visually. The big cluster is 4.5 cm across. It is exceptionally robust and, although white or "colorless" is incredibly impactful in a case and draws the eye because of the sparkle and the sheer purity of the whiteness. This is an important specimen, we valued highly in the collection purchase at perhaps $2000. It is from the important suite of Mexican specimens belonging to Bill Panczner, author of MINERALS OF MEXICO (1987). It is a stunning specimen. One last note, for those who saw modern production of "hemimorphite pinwheels" about ten years ago - those are tiny, insignificant, and graceful little things compared to the robust form and impact of this oldtimer!
