Item Description

Citrine is the yellow variety of Quartz, and has been known for thousands of years, as the ancient Greeks wrote about it a few centuries BCE. This stone very likely started out as an Amethyst, and was heated to turn it into its current golden-orange hue. My favorite aspect of the gem is that is has a unique cut with a checkboard crown, but beautifully smooth concave polished surfaces along the girdle, and a "Radiant Square Brilliant" cut on the pavilion. The stone is virtually eye clean, and looks beautiful in person. A fantastic one-of-a-kind gem that would make a great addition to any collection, or as the center stone for a piece of jewelry.
