Citrine (heated)

Citrine is a semi-precious gem (the golden / yellow variety of Quartz) that has been known for centuries. If you attend a gem show, you might see a lot of Citrine available, but the vast majority of the Citrine gems you will see on the market today have been heated to turn them yellow. Most Citrines offered for sale (especially from Brazil) start out as natural purple Amethyst, and through heating they color will change color to yellow. This particular stone is a heated Citrine with strong golden color saturation and a standard "Rectangle" cut. The stone is virtually eye clean, and is very attractive in person. It would make a nice addition to a collection, or to be placed into a custom piece of jewelry.
