Item Description
Here we have a good sized, "standard emerald cut" Citrine gem from the lesser known Audrey Lynn Mine in Riverside County. The rough from which this stone was faceted was collected by Phil Osborn, who incidentally was the man who discovered the Audrey Lynn Mine and actually named the locality after his daughter. The stone is has very slight inclusions, but it's forgivable considering the size. It's also important to note that this is NATURAL (UN-HEATED) Citrine, not the cooked material we're used to seeing from Brazil. It's rare to find completely clean faceted stones of any kind Quartz from California in this size range, and this gem would make a fantastic addition to any collection of gems from Southern California or the United States in general. The retail price on this stone is $1805.25. From the collection of Bill Larson of Fallbrook, California. Bill is a well-known gem and mineral dealer as well as a miner and collector. Bill is synonymous with minerals of San Diego County, and owned and operated famous mines such as the Stewart Lithia, the Tourmaline Queen, the Pala Chief and the Himalaya, producing some of the most iconic mineral specimens to come out of the area during the 1970s-1980s.
