Item Description

A rare and important combination quartz specimen from one of the oldest mining districts in Europe, Kremnica, Slovakia. Mining records go back to the 9th Century for the rich gold deposits. This is a striking and beautiful mounded specimen of discrete, glassy, amethyst crystals with a pretty purple blush set amongst smaller, rich golden-amber citrine crystals. The crowning glory amethyst tower is 1.8 cm tall. Pristine. Undoubtably old material, as these were highly desired in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Ex Bally Museum (Switzerland) and Dave Bristol Collections. Valued at $600.
