Item Description
Citrine has been known for thousands of years, but it's actually quite rare in nature. The vast majority of the Citrine gems (and specimens) you'll find on the market started out as Amethyst. These stones were heated to over 500° C in order to turn them from purple to yellow. Here we have a 5-stone set of "Rectangle" cut Citrines that were heated to create the rich honey-gold color. A very attractive hue, and these gems would make for a nice pendant or bracelet, or as accent stones to a larger gem.
From the old inventory of Ray Zajicek, a respected wholesaler and founding member of AGTA and the International Colored Gemstone Association, with decades of experience in the gem and jewelry business. Ray has won more than a dozen Spectrum & Cutting Edge Awards (TM).
