Item Description

Citrine is the yellow variety of Quartz, but it's important to remember that good percentage of the Citrine gems that one encounters on the market have been heated to turn them yellow. Nearly all of these stones begin as natural purple Amethyst which is then heated to create the yellow color. This stone is a heated gem that was once Amethyst, but the color is a still a very pleasing strong yellow shade. With that said, it is a very good sized gem, with nice color saturation and good cutting. It is nearly eye clean in clarity with an "Oval Brilliant" cut.
