Silvery-bright droplets of native mercury are clearly visible in two areas of one side of this extremely rich large mercury ore specimen. Patches and veinlets of brick-red cinnabar and cinnabar crystals richly cover all sides of the massive matrix. The ancient mercury mines at Almaden have been in production since the Roman Age, 2000 years!
