Cinnabar (twin) (ex Mikell Collection)

Item Description

A classic example of the famous penetration "star" twinned crystals of GEM red Cinnabar from the Nikitovka Mercury Mine in Ukraine. I've seen a few of these complete "floater" twins over the years, and they are some of the finest examples of the species outside of Tongren, China. A sharp, lustrous, metallic, red penetration twin of Cinnabar perched atop a small micro mounting stick inside of a "Perky" box. Excellent quality all around, and gorgeous when backlit and viewed up close. The piece comes from the collection of Bev & Mars Mikell who received it as a gift from Tony Steade in 1994.
