Cinnabar (rich specimen) (ex Colin Manlove Collection)

Item Description

This is a wonderfully rich, classic example of the famous penetration "star" twinned crystals of richly red colored Cinnabar from the Sofiya Mine in Ukraine. Most of the time, these specimens are fairly small, so to have a small cabinet sized piece loaded with crystals like this is a big deal. These beautiful twins are some of the finest examples of the species outside of Tongren, China. This piece features dozens upon dozens of sharp, lustrous, metallic, red penetration twins of Cinnabar with minor associated Quartz on matrix. Most of the crystals are in good shape, though some of them have slightly rounded edges when you view them up close. Excellent quality all around, and gorgeous when backlit and viewed up close.
