Cinnabar (rare Mexico) ex. Rice Museum

Cinnabar specimens are RARE from any of the three mines that MINDAT lists for Queretaro, Mexico. A sharp, lustrous and translucent, 9 mm, dark red crystal is jauntily perched atop matrix on this excellent Mexican rarity. The crystal GLOWS cherry-red, when backlit. The back side of the crystal is gently bruised, but is mostly out-of-sight in the primary display view. RARE cinnabar from the Rice's, before they opened their museum in Oregon.
