A 2.2 cm, splendent, interpenetrating, drillbit-twinned, cinnabar crystal magnificently rests atop a mounded CABINET quartz crystal matrix richly sprinkled with cream-colored dolomite rhombs on this outstanding specimen from Tongren, China, the premier locality for fine cinnabar crystals. This complete all-around crystal has a beautiful, "ruby-silver" look to it, just like proustite or pyragyrite crystals! Nearly pristine, trivial termination wear is noted, but is barely noticeable and is certainly not a detraction. This piece is a stellar example of the combination species and locale.
