Cinnabar on Dolomite

Item Description

A striking, 1.9 cm wide cluster of gemmy and lustrous, beautiful cherry-red, cinnabar crystals to 1.0 cm is aesthetically perched atop cream-colored dolomite rhombs on this very showy miniature. There is a broken crystal on the edge of the cluster, but is out-of-sight or nearly out-of-sight in the preferred display view. The crystals glow when backlit! Cinnabars from Hunan Province are much less common than those from Tongren in Guizhou Province.
