Cinnabar (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A classic old time Cinnabar specimen from and undisclosed locality in Humboldt County, Nevada. The piece hosts several deep blood red crystals and partial crystals of Cinnabar measuring up to 1.1 cm with minor Quartz on host rock matrix. Some of the Cinnabars are contacted, so it's more of a reference specimen overall, but how often does one have the chance to purchase a crystallized Cinnabar from any US locality? Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3828). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
