Item Description
A predominant, good quality, sharp, lustrous, intense red, gemmy crystal of Cinnabar measuring 1.6 cm nicely sitting among Quartz on matrix. A very pretty piece with great color, and they aren't as common as they once were. This is RARE material from Mexico, and fooled me initially as I thought it was a Chinese specimen. Luckily I was able to find an old photo from Rock Currier on mindat to verify its authenticity - https://www.mindat.org/photo-276582.html - Just a little damage that I can see with the naked eye, but really attractive for what it is. A superb example of Mexican Cinnabar! From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (Collection #4560), and comes with a lucite base from Miguel's collection.
