Cinnabar (ex Arnaud Collection)

Item Description

A few lustrous, very well-formed, fine red color, gemmy crystals of Cinnabar with a very attractive "flower"-esque burst nicely sitting on pearly Dolomite on matrix. The largest Cinnabar crystal measures 7 mm. Very pretty piece with good color, and they aren't as common as they once were. A classic specimen of this well-known material. This deposit accounts for 50% of all the mercury deposits in China! From the collection of John Arnaud of Colorado.
