Item Description

A 2.0 cm, pristine, sharply terminated, lustrous, translucent, cherry-red cinnabar crystal with frosted and unfrosted faces is very aesthetically set in a curved vug. The mounded quartz points above and small creamy dolomite rhombs surrounding the cinnabar are fine and typical accessories. This is classic and very uncommon, OLDER cinnabar from the 1990s, before the cinnabar floods began in the 2000s. Ex Art Soregaroli Collection and purchased at the 1996 Rochester Symposium benefit auction. The piece was donated by well-known East Coast dealer Russ Behnke.
