Let me say up-front that while the superb cinnabar crystals on this specimen are real, the specimen is faked: the crystals have been carefully placed in excavated recesses in the quartz and glued in - in fact, so well that it is just about impossible to tell. Too bad, because this would have been a KILLER specimen, otherwise. As it stands - you can just enjoy it for the intense cherry red gem quality of the crystals (the larger one is just about one centimeter in each direction) in their "specially prepared" setting!
