This is a truly beautiful old-time polished slice of translucent, rich green chrysoprase from this well-known Australian locale. Chrysoprase is the apple-green variety of chalcedony. The color is caused by tiny inclusions of Nickel-bearing layered silicates. The pristine slab GLOWS, when backlit. Killer lapidary material from the locale. At 63 grams, keep in mind that when cut, this material is priced by the carat in the gem trade. Old material.
