Item Description
The bit of attached and included matrix adds character to this sculptural cut and polished chrysoprase miniature nodule. The polished face has gorgeous, lustrous, translucent rich apple-green color. This shapely and beautiful piece is from a recent 2018-19 find at this historic old nickel deposit, mined since the Middle Ages and finally abandoned in 1980 (MINDAT). Chrysoprase is the apple-green variety of chalcedony. The color is caused by tiny inclusions of Nickel-bearing layered silicates. Excellent quality material from the find and GLOWS, when backlit. 34 grams mass.
