Item Description
Glorious, lustrous, translucent, rich apple-green color with high lustre on the sawed and polished face of this sculptural Chrysoprase miniature. This beautiful and shapely wedge is from a recent 2018-19 find at this historic old nickel deposit, mined since the Middle Ages and finally abandoned in 1980 (MINDAT). Chrysoprase is the apple-green variety of chalcedony. The color is caused by tiny inclusions of Nickel-bearing layered silicates. High quality material from the find and GLOWS, when backlit.
