Item Description
A beautiful, showy and polished piece of Chrysoprase from a NEW FIND at this historic old nickel deposit, mined since the Middle Ages and finally abandoned in 1980 (MINDAT). Chrysoprase is the apple-green variety of chalcedony. The color is caused by tiny inclusions of Nickel-bearing layered silicates. This is a striking polished solid nodule of glorious, lustrous, translucent, rich apple-green chrysoprase, nicely accented with just a bit of matrix. High quality material from a new find.
