Item Description

A sculptural, dramatically colorful, elongated solid miniature nodule of Chrysoprase from a NEW FIND at this historic old nickel deposit, mined since the Middle Ages and finally abandoned in 1980 (MINDAT). The sawed and polished face reveals the glorious, lustrous, translucent, rich apple-green color of this beauty. The polishing brings out the incredibly rich green hue. This is a beautiful and striking piece of Chrysoprase. Chrysoprase is the apple-green variety of chalcedony. The color is caused by tiny inclusions of Nickel-bearing layered silicates. High quality material from a new find and GLOWS, when backlit.
