Item Description

Three sawed and polished faces and one sawed face reveals the glorious, lustrous, translucent, rich apple-green Chrysoprase on this essentially solid sculptural nodule from a NEW FIND at this historic old nickel deposit, mined since the Middle Ages and finally abandoned in 1980 (MINDAT). The polishing brings out the incredibly rich green hue. This is a beautiful and striking piece of Chrysoprase. Chrysoprase is the apple-green variety of chalcedony. The color is caused by tiny inclusions of Nickel-bearing layered silicates. High quality material from a new find and GLOWS, when backlit.
